Family ICF Home in Linlithgow
ACS were appointed by the Client for the structural design and SER certification of a generous new build 4-bedroom family home and garage in Linlithgow.
The ICF structure with raft slab foundation provided large open plans, featuring glazed elevations and a double height dining room with vaulted ceilings throughout.
ACS reviewed the site investigation and topographical survey findings to determine that an Izodom insulated raft slab was achievable for the site constraints. The site was located adjacent to a vulnerable structure, had varying depths of made ground and levels dropped locally at the site boundary. An engineered fill with geogrid was adopted on consultation with specialists to achieve the allowable ground pressures and formation levels required.
ACS provided structural overmarks to identify anticipated structural requirements at an early stage allowing structural zones and column locations to be identified and co-ordinated with the architectural proposals.
Following the warrant submission, ACS continued to provide assistance to the self-build Client throughout the construction process,
